It’s Who You Know (120 words)

Well, at least Kama had avoided dealing with cops for the rest of his life.  I was the one who lived, so I got to answer all the questions.

Kama was working a routine case, tailing a possible cheating spouse.  I didn’t know much more than that.  I didn’t even know Kama was dead until a junior detective showed up two days ago to break the news.

When Chan heard it was me calling in Eugene’s murder, he came running.  We’d been tight.  I took pride in that.  Chan was the most respected cop at HPD.  If you passed muster with Mr. Clean, then you had something you could brag about.  He liked Kama too.  Eugene, he’d put behind bars.
