Survey (Part Twelve)

“My mom didn’t notice what was going on until the new neighbors started putting up a fence one day on her property.  She asked them to stop, said that they were putting up the fence illegally.

“They stopped, but their realtor, this fucking piece of shit here, started calling her right away.  He told her she was a crazy old woman who didn’t know what she was talking about.  He said his surveyor, an expert, had done a perfect job staking out the new neighbor’s property, that they had every right to put up the fence.

“So the neighbors had the fence crew come again.  My mom asked the neighbors if they’d rather put up the fence and have to tear it down, or just wait until the issue was resolved.

“They agreed to wait, but this fucker kept calling my mom.  Not only did he keep calling her and berating her, but he began coming to the house and telling her in person that she didn’t know what she was talking about.

“My mom became afraid to answer the phone, afraid to answer the doorbell.  She was a nervous wreck.  Crying all the time.  Unable to sleep.

“But from the first time she asked the neighbors to stop putting up the fence, my mother sought out and hired the best surveyors in the State.  Their survey took months.  They ended up mapping almost the entire subdivision, locating all the original points.

“And you know what happened in the end?”
