The water is full of ghosts and him. In the water. There.
A child’s eyes staring back at you. Right there. Pointing,
I follow my index finger. It sees you happening, after
each life fact, how you are becoming, you keep
so it appreciates time’s doing, and laughs? Maybe
sheds some tears. Both, probably. It has known you
for ages, watched carefully, as you’ve stepped along.
There’s always someone haunting someone. Know that
it sees you, always, even if you are not standing
here, above the water, watches with intensity,
curious as you grow more distant, farther
each day, away and each dawn grows more anxious,
this ghost, to see you again, once more,
all the way until you fade away and are gone.
