Disappointing You

It’s no secret you’ve hoped NASA’d fly me to the moon

Have me bounce around the dark side for a weightless time

Leave me there with no air a breathless day or two

Let me think about how I should have been more kind

Finally you’d tell them I could come back to earth

But I’d have to pledge I’d be better this time around

Maybe buy you a car to show my sorrow’s worth

Give you a ring for the old love I’ve found

Now you know I’m only kidding but seriously, Dear

We’ve been going separate ways and my worry’s very real

You’ve got no regret that your leaving’s pretty clear

Though you keep on saying there’s no problem time won’t heal

I know I can’t blame you since I’ve been a bad friend

Still I’m asking for another chance before our friendship ends.
