Love, must I not have a word with you, just for laughs,
see the rain, how clearly the sky bleeds for me, hah.
There, see that falling star? I’ll run and catch it, no,
it would burn right through my hand, yes,
that would surely not be my wish. Would it be yours?
I’m kidding, it would crush me first with its enormity.
But seriously, Love, let me say this, and I mean it:
May a jagged dagger of lightning never stab you,
nor ill-fated fortune or angry gods condemn you,
kill your faithful heart some day,
as you have mine, Love, from now on
so laughingly you’ll remember how
the single word I had with you was
us.
