Hawaiʻi Sonnet 84 (she seemed she was)

pull the lamp chain let
in light as dark attracts that ray of sun
risen by enticing birds who call awake
by singing royal attraction as you are
alluring back against the night
of sleep you may be it seems
how now I touch to see this vaulted space
is empty for its treasure vanished
by a theft of all like dreams stole
evaporate before we tell them so
all your stay with me is left air
and hollowed out
as the inside of an echo’s perfect
eyed silence settling in quiet dawning

Today’s word is

vanished

Use vanished in a piece of writing, or use it to inspire a piece of writing, and then post that piece as a comment below. I would love to read what you write : )
