Balance Question

Question gravity
as we float afraid we’ll fall
a glimmer something
mote of slight hope
speculate about light
about tandem flight
wished for greening
of summer dried grass
this house of mirrors
distorting all our reflections
the leaves with no more motive to grow
no more single-minded
laser-purposed flick for flavor
untasted such small hearts
barely beating outside our bodies
stored somewhere in our empty pockets
where they can almost pulse
a muffled echo of mutual regard
