Hawaiʻi Sonnet 102 (smart)

The Bamboo Forest in Damyang
scrubs four times more CO2 from the air
than a pine forest of the same size.  It is recommended
you walk through here, as doing so will literally
suck the CO2 out of your brain, allowing clear thought.

I think about this while I sit on one of the forest benches.
I wonder if this might mean that my mind is not just being cleared,
but that I am suddenly smarter.
That would be good.

On the walk to the exit, I’m unable to read the map and get lost.
I backtrack so many times I am doubly and triply confused.
I try asking all the Koreans I meet if they can
point the way, but I can’t understand what they say.
I’ve never been able to learn Korean.
