Daylight struggled to break through all morning
Into the afternoon the clouds hold on
Stubbornly extending their unwelcome stay
Raining down on us tenacious as ever
Stormy weather hanging around who knows
How much longer than we would hope
This lingering gloom that ruins the mood
Dark enough to kill the party in a room
All the nighttime of it drowning the day
The forecast a toss-up whether we’ll see
A change today or have to live much longer
Under the pall of this withering time
We need to see the sun sometime today
Even if it takes all night
