3,650 rough drafts, 10 years later

On this date in 2014, I challenged myself to post a rough draft a day. It’s been a good 10 year run. 3,650 drafts later, I feel as if I’ve done something worth doing.

Sometimes whatever I’ve written that day has been good, plenty of times not so much. But if you want to write, you have to write, and I’ve wanted to write all the time for a long time.

It’s been mostly stories and poems, although I’ve had a good time writing 2 memoirs. And I’ve had great fun writing 13 Lt. David Chan Hawaii-based mysteries (so far : ).

I don’t know if I’ll continue. Some of the pieces have been revised and published. But there’s lots more revision ahead, for sure.

Ah well, no worries. I have until tomorrow to decide : )
