Fall Apart

You may think your love’s perfectly pieced together
The final puzzle as pretty as the picture on the box
Every curve and corner you believe is razor fit
The edges so close you need hardly catch your breath . . .

Over time I know Nature pulls mountains down
If you’re lucky with love, you’re gone before it starts
But if you hang on with all your hope for long enough
Try to hold up some building forged from smoke and dust
Pray a sandcastle can survive while waves wash it away
Prop up a tricky tower stacked against doubts that shake
No matter though you say all you need is to care
Or how hard you pray for what you two have made
Regardless the strength of a foundation at the start
In the end, I’ve seen, love can always fall apart
