After all the crying and cursing
After all the anger and grief
Time had the time to heal the wound
But what followed was only more of the same
Every argument never resolved
That issue that sat as the root of the problem
Once it was done it was done forever
Repeating in words if never in deed
All that’s settled is that life equals fighting
All that they learn is a greater grief
A sorrow that leads only to more hurting
Each one the part of a pair torn farther apart
No matter the power of the love that first bound them
The point was reached to test all of that strength
The tension bent them and then they were broken
A fix for their rift would never be found
That passion they’d lost would never be recovered
A grievous wound would be all they would find
One that never healed
A constancy only of tearing each other apart
