The last act of taut bodies
Learning only love’s strain
Some miscomprehension
In the dark aftermath
They count stars
Twinkling indifference
From a distance almost as far
As the space between them
These two lying on cold sheets
The icy brocade
Some random design abraiding them
One actor at a time will depart the trying scene
Make a way to the wings of a house
Gone quiet and dark
Each exiting the emptiness alone

Particularly loved this line: “They count stars, Twinkling indifference”! Captivating!
