Thought Time Stopped

For sure with no more counting up or down
With no key sought to wind a forward sweep
Or so it seemed in the curb kicked stop
Of the onward curve of chasing light
Horizons found to never bend to us again
To the darker side or even to the dawn
Only some balance found
On a stagnant second hand
With no more seeking a tick or tock
No sand flowed when an hourglass flipped
No movement felt of months or seasons
Or of any new experienced moments
All of us convinced we were stuck
Were trapped in amber instant
Choosing at least some solace in the idea
That we’d no longer age at least
Although we kept on aging unaware
There’s no such thing as an only present
All giving up living our days
For better or whatever
Spending the rest of our time
Unmoved until we finally came to rest
