Ocean Meditation

A dazed light reflection
Sun glinting on its fast free run
Unleashed across the sky refraction
Arc of a bright bird winging on
To name it, now I would
And pin it down to rest
Delightful plumage color once
This stop motion a sensation only
A feature of mind’s longest flight
Over a light far away blinding day
Held on once beneath
An upturned sheltering palm
I sway breezily thin
Squint under the dancing form
Reminding me of the long borne
Body browned to rapture
That was once mine
A flight bird’s free
Old memory of a feather
Fading tickle small smile
A balancing trail of a tail
A tale’s end is all I glimpse now
That tiny speckled bird receding
To nothing more on the horizon
