Our Crossing Time

Each different and the same
Two part of a whole, same fabric
History woven, stitch and seam each of the other
As read, you are with me
Words bridge time and space
Bonded with your voice
Time collapsed to nothing

I gaze at this same encompassing ocean
Lapping these Hawaiian shores
You gazed at lapping Brooklyn and Manhattan Island
All water molecules commingled in an eternal sea
Caress and embrace everything the world around

I see your face reflected here with mine
Reach in and grasp your hand
Pull you up, and out, and to my side
So we walk, arms around each other’s shoulders
Singing together our doubly envigored songs
In perfect harmony
