When I come in I’m torn between hunger and thirst
Try to ease the tension by having both a burger and a shot
Get some full, get some drunk
There in the dim
Squinting, thinking
Can’t hardly see and can’t quite plumb
Always pay what’s owed, though
Tip heavy enough to show some care
Get out of there to smoke
Reel home to sleep you off
